Landscapes

I fell in love with landscapes when I was ten years old and my parents took the family camping, first in the deserts of the US southwest, then up the coast of Oregon and Washington, to Vancouver, and finally to Banff and Glacier. The sky opened up and so did my world. Ever since then, I've been far more comfortable camped out in a tent than in even the nicest house, and I've hiked across the US, throughout Europe, and in Iceland, and Peru. There are so many more places I want to visit—my retirement dream is to spend a year walking, accompanied only by ultralight gear and my dog. Logistically, I'm not sure this can happen, but dreams are worth having even if they don't always come true.
